Moon Shadow
My shadow walks obediently behind
Cast there by the moon
My only companion
The world is shades, of gray and white
Somehow matching my mood
The full moon, its promise mocks me
Here I am, without love
In a landscape of harvest
The full, the ripe, being plucked
And only I am left unpicked
The forgotten fruit
Imperfect, blemished, unwanted
The scars I bear are all they see
Forgotten, is what’s inside
Who I really am is never known
As we walk, I tell him of my fears
Of course, he just stares back at me
Linked in perfect mime
At least, he can’t abandon me
I guess, we are stuck together
My moon shadow, and me
